A Taste Of Italy In Auckland's Karaka

IMG_7736.JPG

Sybelle Design had the pleasure of staging a unique and beautiful Tuscan-inspired villa on Pararekau Road in Karaka. A property of this stature requires thoughtful marketing and quality styling to enhance the living spaces and create an emotional connection for potential buyers.

Upon arrival through the gated entry, there is an immediate sense of tranquillity and the sound of birdsong. The perfectly manicured lawns and gardens set the scene for a summer soirée with friends, or relaxed alfresco dining around the outdoor fireplace with family under the stars. The versatile outdoor space can feel both luxurious and homely with an elegant feature fountain in the garden and an in ground heated swimming pool for family fun.

Sybelle Nakhle, founder and owner of Sybelle Design works with all types and values of homes and has extensive knowledge and experience in interior design and the property industry. Her creative eye knew exactly what staging was required to add to the

Renaissance architecture of number seventeen Pararekau Road.

“Styling a home is about separating the client from the house and making it visually appealing to a wide range of potential buyers. I always want the best possible outcome for my clients so I do what is best for the property and add unique ideas to the existing interior design to attract attention,” says Sybelle.

The property named Delahunty, is built from quality masonry construction and features high ceilings on both levels. Although it was designed for entertaining and catering for large crowds it still maintains a lovely warm homely feeling. Its fabulous custom-designed kitchen by Shane George has abundant storage and space to have a number of cooks working at one time. The well-thought-out materials and fittings used in the kitchen build make it a relaxing and welcoming family kitchen while still providing a space for hospitality. Shane George also designed the master ensuite, one of three ensuites in the house.

Sybelle Design took inspiration from the feelings of peace and privacy that the property offers to select contemporary artwork and sustainable handcrafted pieces made in New Zealand by award-winning artists and furniture designers. The artwork was chosen to work with the home's current colours and furnishings to highlight the house and set a calming

tone.

Auckland-based artists Amrit Kaur and Tim Jones provided Sybelle Design with several pieces of artwork to add interest while still ensuring the home stayed in the limelight. Amrit’s mixed-media paintings from the Hidden In Plain Sight collection reflected the calming colours of nature and the unexpected beauty that can be found in the garden. Sybelle chose several abstract pieces of bold blended movements and muted tones from contemporary and abstract artist Tim Jones. Both artists used a palette of relaxing earth tones of beige, blue, green and white that complemented the creamy beige walls and wooden accents.

Sybelle Design collaborated with Lyzadie Renault from Lyzadie Design Studio. Timeless and unique pieces of furniture were carefully selected from the Tui, Flow and Re-leathered collections. Lyzadie Design Studio uses luxury natural materials and sustainable designs in their New Zealand-made furniture. The materials used in the statement pieces to stage the living areas were rescued river matai, polished brass, blackened steel, leather and rimu.

They tied in perfectly with the elegance and style of the house adding a touch of luxury and interest to the spaces.

Furniture and decor from the Sybelle Design inventory were used to stage the property alongside furnishings from contemporary furniture experts Hawthorne Collections. The chosen on-trend articles were a mix of sustainable reclaimed elm wood and rustic iron

clement. The finishing touches included artisan serving boards, hurricane lamps and a beautiful array of cushions and throws in shades of oatmeal, grey, copper, black and denim blue.

“I fell in love with the house myself and I am excited to see it sell,” says Sybelle. There is so much to appreciate about this property and its location. It is conveniently positioned near the local shops, a motorway, a private school and the world-renowned Bloodstock auction house. The wonderful thing is even with all this accessibility, the property still offers a taste of Italy in an idyllic restful hideaway.
